Job description
Floor Finisher Carpet/Wood/Vinyl Installer
We Kinari Construction mainly from residential construction development. Now, we are urgently looking for experienced Floor Finisher to join us. We welcome local people or migrants to work with us.
Responsibilities include:
- Setting up on site – including carrying of timber flooring/laminate flooring onto site from transport and setting up of equipment used in the installation of timber/laminate flooring.
- Subfloor prep including concrete grinding and sanding.
- Existing flooring uplifts – tile/vinyl/carpet/timber.
- Subfloor construction – joists/lay particle board.
- Flooring installation – solid timber, engineered timber and laminate flooring.
- Use of hand and power tools.
- Finishing work including stairs, skirtings, edging and caulking work.
- Cleaning up site after works.
- Assist in post-job inspections.
- Sample making.
- Using and assisting with coating machine and its maintenance.
- General workshop duties.
- General cleaning up of depot (including company vehicles as required)
- Basic stock control and general warehouse duties
- Assist in tool maintenance inspections
- Deliver flooring orders as required in company vehicles.
To be successful a candidate will require the following qualifications and experience:
- 5 plus years post trade experience preferred
- Valid, unrestricted Full Drivers License
- Experience with building services specializing in flooring
- Experience in responding to and satisfying customer requests
- Experience with using hand or power equipment
- Experience working within Health and Safety guidelines
Skills and Experiences:
- We are seeking applicants with various levels of experience, having at least 5+ years of residential and housing floor finisher
- Be flexible to work in multiple locations in Auckland
- Self-motivated, great communication and interpersonal skills
The successful applicant will be required to work in different locations: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Nelson – Tasman, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland
At least 2 years of related work experience
